As an older gamer I would be happy to help monitor the community. I have an interest in being able to improve the online experience so that once my daughter is old enough to start gaming that she might be at a bit less risk of being exposed to the thuggish behaviour we so often see online.

Yeah I'm sure MS must have some strange reason for keeping AA batteries in use but I wish they had gone with a phone style battery pack which was replaceable.
As a box that's designed to sit in your TV cabinet I have no issue with the size of the Xbox One. In fact I'd rather it had the space for good vents, fans and heatsinks to keep it cool.
And in reality it will still take up a smaller area than my original Amstrad Sky HD box which is massive and considerably larger than the newer ones and my Sony 5.1 amp which whilst thinner than XBox One is much wider. My top shelf currently has a fat PS3 which is a big girl in itself....

My PS3 games are all exclusives and my % of exclusives to multiplats on my Xbox must be only around 20% but...
It is worth remembering however, that many multiplats were better on 360 and this did influence my purchasing decision so I suspect that many replies to your question by multi console owners could be similar in terms of ratios.

The submitter of this opinion piece is one of the worst on this site for being pro Sony. It's kind of the pot calling the kettle black in my opinion.
I for one want both systems but would in all honestly probably get the Xbox first as this is the direction that my gaming chums and I are comfortable with despite the efforts of the armchair soldiers on this site and in the general media.

MS know how to create, nurture and grow revenue streams outside of the traditional hardware box and game license fees.
They have been very clever with live over the years and must be doing something right as so many people pay for it quite happily.

PS3's probably have more resell value (blu-ray) and are less likely to brick.
I like my Xbox but wouldn't want to take in the original design models on the assumption that I could resell them - too risky...

I could almost see it being justified for the uploading part only as I guess the system might use some online space to save clips for sharing (which server space would cost money), but even then I cannot defend it really within the realms of the XBLG subscription as you can do clips already from within games such as COD.
I certainly cannot understand why the feature to record clips locally to the console for your own enjoyment or...

Sony have done very,very well to catch up given the apathy toward the console in the first year or so of its life and the head start of the competition/hype around the Wii, but in reality they have lost a huge amount of market share compared to the last gen. They also lost the biggest market North American which had again previously been solid so hardly a smashing victory. That was the PS2 which crushed...

Firstly they are talking about the rumble triggers as a great new feature for those who want/need to use a controller which I suspect is the majority. Obviously a wheel is better for serious racing. No problem there.
Second there is a massive difference between and streaming service like Gaikai which uses full remote processing and rendering for emulation purposes, and the sort of cloud service MS will be offering which is designed as a distributed...
It does seem like a strangely generalised thing to say coming from a PC dev that would be used to even mid range graphics cards being considerably more powerful. I guess in the context of a console it is the most powerful GPU ever used in a console and many times the potency of what we have in the current gen, and in the fixed platform there must be a massive amount of performance available.
